With the growing usage of AI tools in the Legal Industry, we advise clients that the usage of AI cannot replace actual legal advice from a qualified Lawyer.

We also advise that the usage of AI to generate Statements or Legal Documents causes many issues that can be detrimental to your Legal Case.

Usage of AI to Generate statements or documents is also prohibited for Court Submissions.

Issues to consider before using AI:

MISLEADING ADVICE & LEGAL LIABILITY
1. Advice from AI often sounds correct, however is not catered for your specific situation, country, jurisdiction, can be outdated, be incorrect or misleading, cannot protect your legal interests, and is not a replacement for qualified legal advice from a Lawyer.

Lawyers are required to have up to date legal knowledge and have qualifications that allow them to provide you the correct legal advice and protect your legal interests and liabilities.

ACCURACY & TRUTHFULNESS
2. Documents and Statements Generated through AI often contain generic, false or incorrect statements, have copyright issues, and also do not cater for your specific matter, country, jurisdiction, legal defense, and also will not be accepted by the Legal Courts.

AI Generated Statements and documents may result in delays to your legal matter when submitted to the Courts, and result in rejection of your submitted documents and cause irrevocable damage to your legal case.

PRIVACY
3. The Usage of AI Tools can leak your prompts and personal information publicly, and may be recorded on servers outside of Australia meaning your data may not be legally protected by Australian Laws, may be used as training data for the AI, and can be extracted by other users who use the AI Tool and used for malicious purposes.

Many tasks should not be processed by AI as it can result in your personal information being leaked, vulnerable and can be used against you.

What can you use AI for?
AI Tools can assist you with legal research to understand potential issues before talking to your Lawyer,

However caution must be used, as the privacy of any information submitted to an AI tool can be compromised, and the information provided by an AI tool can be incorrect or misleading and cannot be considered legal advice.

You should always check the sources, date of the information and do your own research to validate any claims made by AI tools.

We highly recommend seeking your Lawyer for qualified and up to date Legal Advice that is catered to your matter.
